Great Grey Owl Meadow Hunting

27” x 19”

Artist Statement

In the hush of winter, where sound is softened by snow, a great gray owl moves with quiet intent. This image
holds a moment poised between stillness and action, a hunter listening more than looking.
Behind it, willows dusted in white form a muted tapestry of branches and shadow. Beneath the surface, unseen
life stirs. The owl reads this hidden world through sound, guided by an acute awareness sharpened by the cold.
What draws me is not the strike, but the pause before it. The discipline of waiting. The precision of attention.
In a season defined by scarcity, there is a quiet elegance in how life endures, finely tuned to its environment.
This photograph is a study in restraint and presence, where survival depends not on force, but on patience and
perception.
