This is a painting of a pond at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. It shows a July Firefly Night, one of their
community events. It is urban-natural juxtaposition at its best and is just a beautiful testament to Nature and
how it naturally longs to live. It is also a well-attended event because who doesn’t want to see and be part of
this natural beauty and surreal landscape? My art is devoted to images of the natural world. It is a search for a
light in the dark, and this painting is one of the most literal and joyful interpretations of that.
