Being a Minnesota resident for over 70 years (now living in Utah), I’ve displayed my photographic artwork twice at Kouba Gallery at the Minnesota Valley Chapter of the Izaak Walton League through my membership in two camera clubs. One is the Fort Snelling Camera Club and the other is the Crosstown Camera Club.
This image is looking south, as the sun was rising, on “Moonscape Overlook.” This site is near Hanksville Utah. You drive up to a plateau using a 4×4 vehicle and look over the 180-degree landscape below. You are standing 500-1400 feet above the floor of the overlook. Humans do not tread nor have immediate access to the ground below. It is an undisturbed area that is breathtaking as you cower near the edge of the precipice. As you observe this image, one can see the prominent bluffs, hills and mountains as the sun touches their face.
There is a huge diversification of colors in the rocks in this area. These would include vibrant colors of purple, red, blue, turquoise, and orange and other colors like, gray, black, brown, and yellow. If you want to get another stunning photograph and not move more than 3 feet, look directly over your shoulder you can photograph one of the most iconic photographed images in Utah. That is, “Factory Butte.”
